Doodling Through History

  • Temperance Hall 199 napier street south melbourne australia (map)

Like your classical music with a dash of history 📜 AND humour 🤣?

Join us on September 11th 5.00pm at Temperance Hall where Crosswinds Ensemble will behave then get seriously silly.

Gaetano Donizetti Sinfonia in G minor (1817)
Arthur Bird Suite in D* (1889)
Esther Ballou Suite For Winds* (1957)
Samuel Zyman Fantasia on a Theme of Erick Zyman* (1999)
Stacey Berk Doodling Through History* (2008)

We grunt (YES really), sing and narrate our way through Stacey's ridiculous epic musical mashup. Yankee Doodle Dandy meets the Stone Age, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Stravinsky and Glenn Miller.

Our musical history lesson is taught by "Professor" David Crawshaw, Ingrid's IRL high school English teacher.

Brush up on your history - from the sounds of 10,000BC to 2022 - listen now on our Spotify playlist.

We can't wait to see you there.

In the meantime, can you name all the Crosswinds Ensemble musicians and spot their instruments in the cartoon? HINT It's Prof. Crawshaw up the back.
